Maternal Instinct sees Sheli offering her most personal & introspective songs to date. Sheli explores a variety of musical styles including Americana, country & folk. The bouncy and instantly hummable “Milk Carton” opens the record and is Sheli's first single. It is followed by the equally soothing title track “Maternal Instinct”. “No Such Thing”, “Stars of Our Show” & “Never Let Go” lean toward the folk tinged introspective songs that she does so well. While “All the Days of My Life” brings the sound of early 1960’s girl groups to the fore. “Minnesota” is an alt-country toe tapper and also is the first single from the record. The traditional

“You’re My Sunshine” has become a live favorite and is nice left turn. Sheli keeps it all in the family on

the album closing “Baby Blue”, with backing vocals by her daughter Melissa, son Jacob, and husband

Keith. The album was recorded & produced by Sean Glonek (Juliana, Hatfield, Tanya Donnelly, CK5) at SRG Studios, Hamilton, NJ.
